Description: After a two year hiatus following the break-up of her band, north19, Anna Coogan is back with her most stark and honest recording yet, "The Nocturnal Among Us". The record was written over the course of a few dark Seattle winters and chronicles Anna’s struggle with acute insomnia. In stark contrast to the depths of winter, however, "The Nocturnal" was tracked during the hottest week of the summer in a farmhouse in the backwoods of Maine, the week before her wedding. Produced by JD Foster (Calexico, Richmond Fontaine), and mixed at Portland's "jackpot!" studios, "The Nocturnal" is joyous, lonely, and overall achingly beautiful.
To celebrate the release, Anna will be playing the Abbey Great Hall with a full band. Sharing the stage will be two incredible singer-songwriters, Chicago’s Edie Carey and Seattle’s own Lindsay Fuller. This will be an incredible evening of music and celebration.
